UV Stabilized Films

UV Stabilized Films

Greenhouses provide an ideal environment for controlled growth of plants and crops. They protect vegetables from the effects of excessive heat from sun, frost, wind and rain, ensure uniformly high quality and help fruit, vegetables and flowers to ripen faster, allowing several crops to be harvested in one year. In past, plastic films were used in greenhouses. But when these greenhouse films were exposed to high UV radiation from sun, heat builds-up inside the greenhouse due to radiation which in turn resulted in decreased crop health and lower yields. Therefore, those normal plastic films had to be stabilized with the right light stabilizers and UV absorbants. Modern UV coated plastic film can be tailored specifically to the unique light and temperature requirements of many field-grown fruits and vegetables. At the same time, UV coated plastic film helps to reduce water consumption by reducing evaporation.
